Autonomy in Labor

I believe birth is a deeply personal journey that can stretch us (literally) in ways we never could have imagined. That’s why I won’t say that there’s a right or wrong when it comes to birthing. I feel confident that when you make a decision that you feel at peace with, it was the right one for you. When we learn to advocate for ourselves and teach our loved ones to do the same, we can own our power of autonomy.

Our Beautiful Bodies

Our bodies are extremely wise and normally find a way against all odds. I find that when we step out of mother nature’s way, things progress and advance in a manner so perfect that no human could replicate. I also think that there is a time and place where our bodies need help, and in those spaces I am immensely grateful for modern medicine. Interventions can be a great tool when they are used in the correct situation. There is no shame in needing help physically or mentally. Labor and birth is usually not how it looks on social media, so never beat yourself up!

Birth Preparation

Childbirth is a feat that takes preparation and care. Physically our bodies slow down which I believe is nature’s way of urging us to prepare and rest before birth. No matter what you want your birth to look like I think the key to having a positive birth is preparation. As a doula I am passionate about helping to ease and guide your preparation journey.
